It is imported Polwarth from Australia. These sheep are bred specifically for and spinning. The sheep are coated for 12 months, resulting in extremely clean fleeces. The micron diameter of Polwarth is 22 - 26. Polwarth is similar to Merino, almost as fine but the fleece is more open due to a longer staple (4.5 to 6 inches long). The staple is stylish, silky and the crimp is very even throughout the fleece. Polwarth is great for blending with other fibres. We have 4 colorways available at $3 /oz These are extra clean nicely milled roving. I have them packaged according to color repeats so the ounces vary from 5-8oz in a bag. I just love this blend, it just makes me happy to spin it. Taos (I may save this for myself!). I like to spin it fine and tight, then Navajo ply it to keep the colors together and make it a self striping yarn! Or you can 2 ply it and get amazing combinations of color.
Taos (around 6oz repeats)
New Flower Felting kits $18 each, retails $25 These are made buy Kathy Miller an Suzanne Higgs They have excellent quality Merino and Merino/Silk Top. Excellent instructions, and different colors available. (Traditional Water Felting kit)
